In Loving Memory of our Beloved Mother
We look back over the years and remember all the magnanimous things she’d performed for each of us. I remember waking up in the morning to the smell of freshly percolated coffee which my mother has thoughtfully prepared for us. I have lost count of the times she woke up early just to make us breakfast and prepare our lunches to be brought to school or work. Each dish she prepared was always done with tender loving care and consideration. I recall bragging to my friends and co-workers that I have the best cook in the world for a mother and I used to bask in their envy when I relate the wonderful dishes she used to prepare at each meal, each always new and different and special. I remember showing off to my friends all the beautiful jumpers that she knitted for us, the wonderful clothes that she sew and the little things that she had given to us in her quiet loving way. And besides all this, she took care of all the bills and managed the household for us, quietly keeping our life as comfortable, worryless and secure as possible. It wasn’t till she became ill that we became hit with the fact that Mum was the central stabilising influence in our life, the fabric that kept the family together, throughout all our strife and family squabbles, she was the wisdom that carried us through. And now, losing her is more painful than can be expressed in words but I take comfort in the fact that her suffering has finally ended and that she is now at peace in God’s hands.
My mother is a very special woman. To us, she is exceptional and we can never imagine a better mother than what she has been to all of us. Throughout all the years, she took care of us with boundless love, deep thoughtfulness, gentle meticulousness, kind perception and a wealth of wisdom. We turned to her at every moment of need from our youngest moments till the last moments of her life. We needed her throughout all our lives and we still do. We thank our mother for all the wonderful things she has done for us and for simply being our mother, the BEST mother imaginable to us.
